Once you have qualified to microchip companion animals you will need to buy the products in order to begin.

We have put together the items you will require and you can purchase them from our Starter Pack Button on the Home Page.  Once you have used up the microchips simply top-up!  Chips are sold in boxes of 10.  Of course you can still order individual items if you want to!

 The difference between the Starter Packs is the type of scanner you wish to buy.  Also, as of January 2010 you can opt for usng either 'hard copy' Petlog registration forms (you post the copies back to Petlog) or on-line Petlog registrations (you go to their web site and register the details yourself) and you do not receive the hard copy forms.  We recommend the on-line option because there is a significant saving and your customer receives their Petlog welcome certificate within 3-5 days - automatically.  You save on postage too.  So there you have it.  Decide on the scanner and the method of registration.  Check out the Starter Packs below and choose which one is right for you.

To help you record the details of the animal, you can print your own Petlog Jotter from this web site.  Keep this copy (or save it to your Desktop and call the Folder something imaginative like Petlog Registrations) or give it to your customer.

Standard Scanner is our PetScan.  PetScan has a great read-distance of between 6-8cms so you will be able to read companion animals as well as horses, tack, fish – yes we did say fish!  Also sheep by the way.  PetScan reads the 15 digit chips (FDX-B) and the old type of chip (FDX-A).  Both used here in the UK and throughout Europe.

Universal Scanner is our Detect-A-Chip. If you need a scanner that reads ALL known microchips, even those from America, then this little beauty is for you.  Reads  FDX-B, FDX-A, AVID encrypted and Trovan ID-100.   Ideal for companion animals only.
